At Venus International Transport and Venus Cargo, we are proud to lead the way in building a greener future for global logistics. In partnership with Lufthansa Cargo, we have taken bold steps to make air freight more sustainable while keeping Egyptian exports connected to the world.
In a landmark achievement, Venus International Transport became the first company in Africa and the Middle East to sponsor a full freighter flight from Cairo to Frankfurt powered by Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This milestone was certified by the Lufthansa Group, which confirmed the purchase of 13,504 kg of SAF on behalf of Venus. This resulted in a mitigation of 40,366 kg of COâ‚‚e emissions compared to conventional jet fuel.
The SAF used was produced from renewable waste sources and was certified under ISCC EU, ensuring compliance with the highest European sustainability standards.
Our journey toward greener logistics doesn’t stop there. In 2022 and 2023, Venus operated 100% offset charters from Cairo to Frankfurt. In 2024, we advanced even further by operating two fully offset A321F charters with SAF.
